ever get scared

Postby froggorino » Fri Jul 07, 2006 3:07 am

that when you have to be up early for something important and really be on your game, that you will oversleep and ruin everything? or that you won't be able to fall asleep until like, the crack of dawn, so even if you do wake up and get there you'll be acting all like a lack-of-sleep-weirdo?

You'll set your alarm (maybe two?) and rest peacefully all night -- and wake up on time feeling refreshed.

That used to happen to me all the time when I was working in live television... especially if we had a really early call time... I would get so paranoid that I'd oversleep. I usually set an alarm on my cell phone & my normal alarm.

Not on a daily basis. But if I have to get to the airport... I'm a mixture of excited and paranoid.

And I sleep very little as it is.

I hope you got the rest you were looking for.

I have horrible waking insomnia, especially if something important is going on.
Lots of times I go to bed just hoping I will sleep through the night.

Hope it all works out for ya and good luck!

i have what i like to call sleep anxiety. if i need to get up early, i get so paranoid that i won't be able to fall asleep that i am completely unable to sleep. i also have a habit of sleeping through my alarm, but i think that's just because i use my cell phone and it doesn't have snooze so i just turn it off in my sleep.

nothing really big to do. just tons of stuff to get done before like 11. and it required a shower before embarking, too. i'm usually really good at the early morning thing. if i can do it in my pajamas.

i occasionally gape in awe at the people i see walking around downtown all done up to the max. and it's like 8 am. kinda getting panicky now over it and it's the past already.

I wish I could have slept in today. I fell asleep at 2:30.
I've been up since 7.

I'm the same way. For special events I can get all dolled up in the early morning but if I had to "dress up" every morning at the crack of dawn, I would probably ruminate for hours deciding what to wear, miss my train, and be late (besides the fact that it's hard to keep it up all day long).
I don't think I've done that since trying to tame my curly hair into the feathered bang look with too much eyeshadow in highschool.

I have done this lots of times. I hate that feeling!! Especially if it involves an airport. I think Tuz and I slept for like 2 hrs before our 8 am flight to Dallas last year!! (No, we weren't traveling together, but he was bumped the night before because of some delay. )

I like how you have to make it really specific that you weren't travelling with Tuz. Because, y'know, nobody wants to be associated with that guy.

Actually, I put him up for the night at my friend's house and found out that we were on the same flight, but he said he didn't want to try to get a seat near mine, so he's the one that pretty much noted that he was not traveling with me. He's strange like that, but I think he just needed to sleep on the way. It just would have been nice to be thanked. I mean, I helped him out both years we went...he owes me!

Anyhow, we made the flight. Also on my trip to England it was really hard to sleep the night before. Non-refundable tix will do you in if you're not careful.
