Sounds like a great trip...can you recommend the company and/or website that you went with?

That's really not very nice. They're called Eskimos.
Or Inuit or Yupik if you wanna be their friends.

My friend worked an an Inuit art gallery in Chicago. I was never sure whether to say "In-YOU-it" or "In-OOO-it."

I was actually referring to the fat tourists. Most of the tribes in the area we were in were Tlingit (pronouced "Klink-it"). Their art was pretty amazing, but was often very overshadowed by the super-crass mega jewelry stores that are all over the ports.

Rubbs, we went through Celebrity Cruises. They are known for not being one of the "woo-hooo" party cruises and the clientele is a bit older. Needless to say, we got many the stare from both guest and staff alike, but we befriended several bartenders (of course) and a few other people and had a kickass time.

Now if we can just get Dalibor the Croatian martini-man down to TX.

yes, the alaskan amber was spectacular. Their ESB (which I had on draft in Juneau) was probably the best ESB I've ever had. The amber is really malty and has a nice finish. I'm going to try very hard to get this stuff in TX.
Yes the ESB is also fantastic!

As for getting it in TX, this is what the Alaskan Brewing Company has to say:

You're in luck if you live in Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, California and Nevada because Alaskan Beer is both available and popular. For those outside our distribution area, who yearn for a "Taste of Alaska", you may contact the following:

Check out Liquid Solutions in Tigard, Oregon or call them at : 866-286-9722. They can send any amount but recommend a case or more to even out shipping. Their website is easy to use so it is worth visiting!

In addition, Annie's Market in Seattle can also ship beer. Call John at (360) 262-0660 for information. These folks have been shipping our beer for a number of years so check them out!

Belmont Station in OR will ship beer to friends and long-time customers but they ship only via "Common Carrier" (i.e. not FedEx or UPS). Please note there is a five case minimum and the shipping costs can be substantial. Call them at (503) 232-8538.

Of course, jbfromoc has been known to do random acts of beer kindness from time to time...

Dammit Mere, you beat me to the obligatory narwhal post. :)

Those pictures are beautiful! And I bet it was a nice change from the Texas heat.
