"Regards,"
Is it just me, or is this the coldest sign-off an e-mail can have?

My pet peeve about Email closings is the "Thank you," when it's embedded in the signature file. Esp when you help someone out, and instead of saying something like, "Thanks for your help on this!" They just hit reply and then hit send. "Thank yous" that weren't even custom-typed that mean nothing. NOTHING!
i "You hear me, Jay Lewis??" rock

That is why I add extra spaces between my "Thank you!" in one color and my signature in another color -- so the recipient knows that it was NOT my auto sign-off. I really do thank them.
I bet no one at my office ever even notices, but Sunny would.

but what's worse I think is when you sign thank you and there's no reason to thank anyone.
Example:
Bob,
Here's the file you requested.
Thank you,
Sue
WTF....why would thank bob, you've done the work
correct response:
Bob,
Here's the file you requested.
Sue
Or:
Bob, here's the file you requested.
Please shove it up your ass.
Thankyou,
Sue

i don't think letter-writing etiquette quite applies to emails, though:I don't like "Sincerely," either. Unless you're requesting somone's presence somewhere or professing your love, what is there to be "sincere" about? Are you implying that the rest of the time you're insincere? Or that everyone else is? Bah!
Thank you sincerely,
Sunny

The thing is, regards can be positive or negative. It just implies some kind of feeling -- but not a positive one, right?"regards" is nice. it's sort of a more sphisticated "take care".
I definitely think "Cheers" is the friendliest, non-love closing.

if it's a business-related email, i usually sign off with "best." it's pseudo-casual cause it's not like "best wishes" or anything like that, but i feel like it makes me sound warm and professional.

If you pronounced "Mere" like "bear" and not like "beer," it wouldn't be as confusing.I wouldn't be able to do that if I were you without saying
