I am IN, but it would be nice if they would replay the last few episodes to remind me wtf is going on.

i think they are replaying the finale on wednesday before the premiere. so much happened in the last few episodes of the season. my favorite episode of lost is definitely the ben backstory episode where we sorta see jacob. ben's my homeboy.I am IN, but it would be nice if they would replay the last few episodes to remind me wtf is going on.

okay, the season 4 spoilers start here. if you don't want to be spoiled, why are you reading this thread anyway?
also, this is all jumbled cause i just saw the episode and am verbal diarrhea-ing.
OMG JACOB'S CABIN scene gave me the worst anxiety. it was amazing. for the record, the rocking chair dude seemed to sort of obviously be christian shepard and was the face in the window charlie? jacob's cabin = place of the dead or someshits?
so apparently, it doesn't matter if you go with jack or locke, some from both groups wind up leaving the island. in regards to the (motherfuggin) oceanic 6, i have no idea who the other 3 are. do you think these 6 are the only ones who got off the island? or the only ones still alive who got off the island? or the only 6 that got back from the island that the creepy black guy's people know about?
almost shit when i saw charlie. so glad he's still dead though. hurley's nuts.
also, what are the (i assume) oceanic 6 hiding from the world? obvs something to do with the island, but is it just the existence of the island or something more? maybe it's some weird time thing where time doesn't pass in the real world but does on the island. or is it just "are they alive?" like creepy fake oceanic black guy asked? AND WHO ARE THEY? !!!
THAT IS ALL.

My guess is that the Oceanic 6 are the 6 who decided to leave: the rest decided to stay on the island. The "secret" is the location of the island and the fact that there are still people alive out there. From the way Hugo reacted to the dude who was Anna Lucia's partner, my guess is that the "6" have fabricated a story that they were the sole survivors so other people don't go looking for the "Locke" group.
My new theory on the entire thing, however, is that there are really more than one Earth/dimension and the island seems to be a hub. Knowing the comic book geekiness of the guys who write Lost and the fact that 3/4 of them are doing the exact same thing with the DC Universe right now (reference "52" and "Countdown") it makes a lot of sense.

Makes sense why the "Oceanic lawyer" would ask if THEY are still alive/there.
Sam and I figured the creepy guy who looked out Jacob's window was Locke. Replayed it and it seemed to be him -- then since he shows up right away with Hugo... I really hated that scene too. I felt the anxiety when Hurley got separated from the pack, then creeped out when he turned around and the house was in front of him again. (The rocking chair is so 1980s-Disneyworld-Haunted-Mansion though!)
Didn't notice that Jacob looked like Jack's dad. Hmm.
Sidenote -- remember how little boy Hurley used to work on a car with his dad, Cheech? I think that orange Camaro (or whatever that was) was the car. I think maybe he got it when he won the lottery, though.

Anyone else think that bearded Jack and the bearded Jeremy Spanking-the-Monkey guy who just parachuted in both look like Roach?

i think the others are on the island and out of their own dimension, hence the inability to reproduce.
i also think hugo has the ability to 'see through ' or 'jump' dimensions or something like that and that is why he's always seeing people.

Something they haven't addressed in a while, and I wonder if they will in these 8 episodes. . .
The black fog thingie -- and the polar bear they shot a while back.
I thought they'd go for an Island of Dr. Moreau angle with mutant animals. I figured the ship Russeau was on was carrying different species, and when it wrecked, the animals got loose. ??

I thought the Polar bears were brought by the Dharma Initiative to study the effects of the island's magnetism. The cages Kate and Sawyer were in locked in last season were built for the bears. Apparently they are smarter than Sawyer, at least for the fish biscuit!Something they haven't addressed in a while, and I wonder if they will in these 8 episodes. . .

I thought the season premiere was strong, but no where near the quality of season two's premiere, I don't think they could ever top that.
I read that Jack's dad was to make an appearance in last night's episode. I didn't see him, but he could very well be Jacob!

i think your powers of deductive reasoning are pretty strong. my inquisitive little mind is wondering why hurley would choose to leave after his whole speech about charlie. there's obviously some sort of scuffle on the island with the people who parachute to get them - maybe some people who left the island didn't do so by choice? also, hurley was part of the locke group (something he appeared to regret), and is off the island. so people from both camps wind up on the other side. it'll be interesting to see how they get there. My guess is that the Oceanic 6 are the 6 who decided to leave: the rest decided to stay on the island. we slow-mo watched the commercial for the premiere, and the guy in the rocking chair totally looked like jack's dad. it makes sense. somehow, he seems to pop up in everyone's backstory.I read that Jack's dad was to make an appearance in last night's episode. I didn't see him, but he could very well be Jacob!
and mere, i didn't hate the jacob's cabin scene, i loved it. when a tv show (/movie/play/piece of art) can elicit such a strong reaction out of me, i think it's amazing.
haha yes. to both.Anyone else think that bearded Jack and the bearded Jeremy Spanking-the-Monkey guy who just parachuted in both look like Roach?

Actually, if you listen to the language, the "Oceanic 6" weren't rescued from the island. I'm guessing the 6 (or maybe more) set out from the island at some point and were picked up from there. This totally jives with Jack's attempts to get back to the island in the season 3 ender. If the location is known, couldn't he just go back rather than waiting for another plane crash?
Also, I'm guessing the ship belongs to Penny's father. That would explain why Naomi (who I'm pretty sure isn't dead) has the Desmond/Penny picture. I'm almost positive that Penny's dad has something to do with the original Dharma Initiative group. Especially since none of the Dharma employees are alive on the island anymore. It just stands to reason that Dharma would be trying to get a resource like the island back from the Others.

They have the first 3 seasons on DVD.So... this is one of those shows where you had to be into season one to ever really get it.
Is it worth catching up at this point?
I highly recommend it!
