Last night, I saw it performed from start to finish at the legendary Roundhouse in Camden. I wondered how they'd cope with playing an album nearly 20 years old, when they were much, much younger (in their 50's or damn near except for Steve Shelley at a spritely 44). Their new albums are awesome, but nowhere near the sheer power of Daydream Nation.
That was put to rest about 30 seconds into Teen Age Riot. I'm sure they haven't played some of those songs in nearly 20 years as well, but you couldn't tell. It was a top 5 gig of my life.
Also, they came out and played about a 40 minute encore.

i thought they got most of their gear back? i don't know though...i seem to remember something about it being given back to them anonymously because it couldn't be sold or something...maybe I'm dreaming...
something else interesting...they played Daydream Nation as a four piece, but brought out some dude (not Jim O'Rourke) to play bass on the newer stuff. At times, they had double bass guitars and it sounded...so...good.

Re: Daydream Nation
I saw them do this at the Pitchfork Festival earlier this summer, and after hearing them for years and seeing them twice before, and honestly, having never been a fan, this show turned me. It was fantastic.Last night, I saw it performed from start to finish at the legendary Roundhouse in Camden.
