amen on a better highway to austin. why not build a tollroad to austin? oklahoma has indian nation turnpike... that way you have to pay if you want a smooth road with a higher speed limit, but if you dont want it theres another route.

god, dallas needs such better traffic planning. its a joke. theyve built about 6 new traffic lights around my house (for small side streets instead of having a stop sign) but havent bothered to adjust the timing of the lights, so people from the small side street have a full 2 minutes to make a left turn, while 500 cars sit on preston road at 6:00 PM and wait.

more than a highway we need a train to austin. but southwest and american teamed up to block that from happening. great. the tollroad is where amtrak used to be, isnt it?

That's a hilarious notion. Trust me, these people would contradict the color of the sky if presented the question together. Collusion is not one of their finer qualities; even if it would benefit them.

Southwest is doing everything possible to block the high speed rail line.
The Houston-Dallas-San Antonio triangle was Southwest' first and only routes for the first several years of its existence and is still quite the cash cow. check out how many daily flights there are between dallas and houston. theres like a gazillion!
