We have to kick this mother fucker out of office

Postby aquaphase » Mon Jul 02, 2007 11:05 pm

Amazingly stupid for where his approval ratings are right now, Bushie commuted Scooter Libby's sentence today. OMKWTFBBQ!!!!!

Are we seriously at the point where goverment oversight and democracy are things of the past?!?!?!! Is this the shit we are going to have to put up with for the next year!?!?!?! This is utter and total bullshits!

Maybe it's time for the revolution. (and I've been rather calm for the past couple of years)

what the odds on mr bin laden or some of his merry men popping up typical comic book style right at the end just as the new guy is taking office...for example see UK-Mr Brown.

I can't even imagine how many extremely angry Americans there would be if that mormon got into office.

Maybe I'm too old school, but I fully expected Dubya to bail out his lackey, and in fact would have had even more scorn for him if he hadn't! The only thing I ever respected about Nixon was that he wouldn't give up the guys who did his dirty work, stood behind them until he had to step down. Dance with the ones that brung ya. I can respect that.

Clinton pardoned his shady friends at the end, as was his prerogative. Dubya knows the end has already come for him, so it starts now.

He can't possibly get elected. It's against his religion to lie. Or drink Mountain Dew.

It really wouldn't be anything new. Reagan's people negotiated with the Iranians to hold on to the hostages until after the election. The Iranians were fully ready to conclude negotiations and let the hostages go free, but the "Republican agenda" convinced them otherwise. A wonderful start to the Iran Contra affair.

I did expect that Bush would pardon Scooter, but I thought he'd be like all the other presidents and do it in the final days all quiet like (similar to Clinton and King George I). All this really says to the American people (hell, the global community at that) is that the rules don't apply to him and he can do whatever he damn well feels like. He's already said on numerous occasions that he doesn't have to abide by any of the laws he signs, and the bullshits last week with Cheney trying to say that the Office of the Vice President isn't in the Executive branch and is therefore exempt to the submission and overview of all official documents coming out of the office was pretty much the start of the icing on the cake.

Everyone should go out and pick up the graphic novel collections of DMZ. It's a good primer to the way things are going to be in about 6 months or less.

I'm not surprised either...
He said Libby's "wife and young children have also suffered immensely".
Poor Scooter, must be tough. Valerie Plame's kids are seven now.

It's not a real pardon, and yes in a twisted kind of way I do respect it. Bush & Co. threw this man under the bus once already. He did their dirty work, and he took the heat for crimes perpetrated by people higher up. He was a good soldier, and commanders are supposed to look out for their soldiers, a trait Bush has never before displayed. Now, if he would just turn his attention to those soldiers who are actually being shot at and killed, that would be great.

And I'm sure Scooter's ass isn't the only one Dubya was concerned about. Two years in prison gives a man lots of time to think...and remember...and write a book.

p.s. BTW, I do think this was an unbelievably stupid move, politcally. It may just be the straw that breaks what party support he has left. And that suits me just fine. Dumb motherfucker.

This is precisely why he couldn't go to prison, because he'd be locked away with guards, whereas on the outside, he can die in a tragic accident or of "natural causes" or something like that. Just wait.

The Bush/Cheney Empire have no problems doing this. They do it with soldiers every day. One random white house guy getting offed will be nothing...

Or maybe not. Seems a broadcast memo when out to all republicans and they "agree" with this move.
