I was able to manage taking a group of 8th Graders from Oak Cliff to the Fort Worth Modern today without a hitch. It was a bit tedious...constantly hoping to god that they wouldn't touch something and praying that someone was turned on by the art. I'm glad to say that we are welcomed back and that some of the kids really got into it. Pretty cool considering a night out for them means god knows what at Keist Park on a friday night.
By far the highlight of the day for me was watching them look at the donation box by the exit. One group saying it was art and the other joking about how to jack it.

In my life I have worked for CP, Tim, and Julie and taught Middle School...Completely insane undertakings.

very cool - you've done your job well.
and the donation box story reminds me of the time i took my mom to the dallas museum of art and she whipped out her compact and began to powder her nose and put on lipstick by the light of the art installation (a scuplture made out of fluorescent light tubes)

i know i liked any form of field trip when i was littler. its cool to see real examples of whatever you learned, no matter how old you get. just dont get on the table and read them oh captain my captain. i dont think anyone but robin williams can pull that off.
