Dear Santa,

I just want you to notice that my request is for something that costs no more than $29, while everyone else is asking for expensive stuff.

Please keep this in mind while perusing your lists of who is nice and who is "other".

That should be enough to get me on the nice list, right?

Sincerely,

St. Hifi

Yeah, that's nifty.

Santa, if James gets the red one, I want the "Prowler" color, k?

S.C.,

Okay, I'm upping my list a little bit now.

1) A polaroid instamatic camera.

2) This DVD. (I promise it's for instructional use only. Yeah, I... uh.. want to take up dancing as exercise... or something.)

Thanks.

Alternatively, I would like 2 plane tickets to Texas for 2007.
Dear Sandy Claws,

I second that.

Or please send 2 plane tickets to England for 2007 to me.

Dear Santa,

How is the single life treating you? Did the prenuptial agreement hold up in court? Don't tell me she got the Tupperware and the sleigh. Anyway, I hope all is well at the North Pole and that your psoriasis has cleared up. I know you've had a rough year, Mr. Claus, but I'd really appreciate it if you'd grant my one wish. On December 25th I would like to wake up and see real estate under the tree.

Lots and lots of real estate.

Warmest regards,

Kathryn

You can do better than this. It won't last a year...
Any suggestions? I've had my piece of shit phone for so long, I don't even know what's available and what doesn't suck.

While I am currently sporting the Paris Hilton edition Sidekick II, I've had really really good luck with Samsung phones in the past Rebecca. They are sturdy as fuck.

Currently my favourite running order of the latest phone lines goes like this:

1. Samsung
2. Sony-Ericsson
3. LG
4. Nokia
5. Anything else apart from Motorola

The N-series of Nokia has been a big disappointment so far; too many glitches, bugs, and problems. If you have the Nokia 6230 or 6280, those are money. Or if you want super durability, see if you can get the 8800 for cheap now; it's made of steel.

I think LG makes a phone that looks just like the RAZR but the quality is significantly higher. Rather impressed with their latest lot of phones.

what does it matter about a phone aslong as you can talk on it?

are phones the new car then? "yeah my car has an 8 gigamondo sooped up engine with 9 valve turbo falangies and 85 inch wheels"
"yeah but all you do is drive it to the factory and back every day in bumper to bumper traffic...and you have no friends"

Apart from the fact I'm gadgety, I do base this firstly on phone functionality. That's my biggest problem with Motorola is how quickly the earpiece and/or mouthpiece stops functioning very quickly. Nokia were the standard-bearers for the longest time, and still, if you just want a phone for talking, there's nothing better than the Nokia 1600. Or if you're really a cheap-arse, the 1100-1101. But again, the new N-Series seems to get away from that, and I think Samsung over the last few years has made the phones that last.

A better question: Should you be calling Chris "honey?"
