I Say "Mid" You Say "-Term Elections!"

Oh, I'm with you. I didn't mean to imply that nothing good ever gets done (my cynicism hasn't become THAT overwhelming - yet), it's just my feeling about politicians in general.well I would like to believe that changes will be made. Pelosi's been around a long time in my neck of the woods and I think she's gonna follow thru on her platform, which will be good for this country....the alternative is the same old shit.

its the same thing with teachers. a lot of the people who would be best at it won't do it because of the pay. the "ideal" politician is someone with inherited wealth who has spent his/her whole life learning, preferably with first-hand experiene in a war so they won't take combat lightly.
that person does not exist, to my knowledge. lets bring back TJ from the dead. He didn't even want to be president, that's why he was such a good one.

That picture right there pretty much epitomizes all that is wrong with the current perspective of "family values"

It's just an extention of the idea that children should be little cookie-cutter extentions of their parents, and little girls - as mothers-in-training - should practice by making their dolls look like little cookie-cutter extentions of them.is anyone else troubled by the fact that the girl and her doll have the same dress? creepy! seriously, what kind of message does that send to the kid. any parent that dresses their kid like a TOY is just inviting huge therapy bills - she's a person not a real, live dress up doll.
See? Not creepy at all.

not to mention her headband is made of the exact same fabric too. ughis anyone else troubled by the fact that the girl and her doll have the same dress? creepy! seriously, what kind of message does that send to the kid. any parent that dresses their kid like a TOY is just inviting huge therapy bills - she's a person not a real, live dress up doll.
It's probably an American Girl doll. You can order them to look just like your kid. . . and even buy matching outfits.

Mere, you beat me to it. Mattel now owns the American Girl (which was founded as Pleasant Company) business. Their historical doll line has probably been responsible for developing little girls' interest in history more than any other single source. Check your local Barnes & Noble's event schedule, there's probably an American Girl Tea Party scheduled for any given month.
They also have a contemporary line that you can order your doll to look (almost) anyway you want. You can also order hair accessories and dance outfits and sports uniforms and pets and any manner of stuff. (The historical dolls have appropriate accessories for their time.
The dolls and accoutrements are quite pricey. Which is one reason why we have had none in our house. (Edit:They also didn't have a blonde-haired, green-eyed doll available when my daughter was the age to be interested.) We did have a computer program that allowed my kid to make up plays and have the "girls" perform them.
You can also visit American Girl Place in Los Angeles, Chicago, or New York.
There are also My Twinn dolls.
Don't blame the dolls.
Clearly, I have too much time on my hands.
Back to the election, I'm not at all sorry Santorum lost.
