The New Cars and Blondie
Road Rage Tour 2006
New Cars feature: Todd Rundgren, Elliot Easton, Greg Hawkes, Kasim Sulton & Prairie Prince. This will be Blondie's Final US Tour!
May 13
I saw the "new" cars last night on the teevee, holy f'n K! It should never ever happen this way. Ole Toddy Rungedgren(that's the way beavis said it, maybe butthead) was just way too over the top and throwing in things like "come on, sing a long" and "come on" and "yeah, come on!". just not fucking right.
If blondie would sing ring of fire while throwing car tires around I might be down for that.

Todd is in the "New" cars?! WTF! I mean I really like the work he's done with Utopia, and XTC but...
Where is Ric?
And what's up with the whole crowd participation shit? MAybe they'll do a tour with other oldie groups in the future...
The "New" Cars, on tour now with Frankie Valley, featuring Neil Sedaka!
I heard Blondie wouldn't let the original guys in the band play along with her at the R&R Hall induction...What's up with that?

i don't think The Cars could even BE The Cars without the late, great Benjamin Orr
on the other hand, I saw Blondie on TV yesterday morning, performing--get this--an all-acoustic version of "Heart of Glass"!!! it was...amazing! and really, really good. I mean, Debbie Harry will ALWAYS be my number one, but even at sixty years old, she's STILL got it, and this country version was....SEXIER...than the original!

Bah! Screw Ben Orr. Without Ric Ocasek they shouldn't even be calling themselves "Rearview Mirror."
Todd does indeed have his place in the annals of history, but he sure as shit shouldn't be performing with the Cars.

No kidding! That's like Sammy Haggar performing with Van Halen...or Paul Rodgers performaing with Queen...or that kid from Eddies Father fronting the Dead Kennedys (though he was danm good with Dr. Know...still he ain't no Jello)Todd does indeed have his place in the annals of history, but he sure as shit shouldn't be performing with the Cars.
Next thing you know Evan Dando will be fronting a newly reformed Nirvana!!!

Hmmm. Eddie would do a good job as well, but, if you aren't going with Tad "the Impaler", I would go with Speedo.
