Speaking Of Teaching

Postby Rubbs » Sat Aug 12, 2006 9:39 am

One week of staff development and my back hurts, having strange field trip dreams, internet in my class isn't working, they brough the wrong books to me, and I just woke up with the "great" idea of putting...."to promote domestic tranquility" on the board on the first day of school in reference to the student handbook. Teaching is a hard job, but I'm really into it.

Be thinking of me on Monday, I'm going to need it.

Anyone who willingly teaches 12-13 year olds has my unquestioned and undying admiration. Good luck and godspeed, my good man.

Do the you have the first day jitters? And if you do, do they feel like they are the "back to school" jitters like kids get or are they the "first day at work" jitters.

I'm excited for you, man.

I hope you don't mind if I pinch that idea for my classroom! I'm going to be primary rather than secondary (so 5-11 year olds), but I shall probably end up with 8-9 year olds, as I like that age group.
