I got my hands on a demo booth for the PS3 last night at a local target!
I will say this, I got to play 2 demos, one for NBA '07 and motorstorm.
Honestly, after playing the 360 for a few months, I don't see much difference in quality! And for the price Sony is asking, you have to ask yourself is it really worth it to shell out more than 200 dollars above a 360 for what is essentially the same thing. Sure you get a Blu-Ray player along with it, but if you already have a 360, 200 dollars upgrades your machine to a HD-DVD player.
Bottom line, wait it out!

i'm sticking with this gen for a while longer, looking forward to seeing a ps3 demo when we're in the us though - we don't get them in europe for a few months yet.
there are some interesting euro views here.
sony have pissed off a lot of people by causing the lik-san import company to close down as well. despite all their top execs in europe using it personally to import psp's when they first came out

I've given up on Sony. I'll still pick up PS2 crap, but they're not getting my nextgen cash. Microsoft & Nintendo however...

If you are thinking long-term, then I guess it could come down to Blu-Ray vs HD-DVD. The 360 player is not an upgrade, but a peripheral, which sucks....Sure you get a Blu-Ray player along with it, but if you already have a 360, 200 dollars upgrades your machine to a HD-DVD player...

Adoption seems neck and neck right now (amazon):
Blu-Ray: 168
HD-DVD: 197

Yeah, that does suck, and the fact that there is no HDMI support sucks even harder. Ohgwell, saves me the trouble of finding a TV or projector that has HDMI inputs! If you are thinking long-term, then I guess it could come down to Blu-Ray vs HD-DVD. My nephew got one for his bday, and we played with it at the family thanksgiving get-together. It is indeed fun! And I am a person who normally eschews the video gaming experience.Yeah, i think the wii is the console I'm most interesting due to the fun factor.

Are you on the list?
I played it too, and it was a lot of fun. It comes with a few basic games already loaded on the system (what a concept) and it required a lot of moving around! A video game that requires exercise is a brilliant marketing angle. Plus it's $350 cheaper than the PS3.My nephew got one for his bday, and we played with it at the family thanksgiving get-together.
