Isaksson joins Manchester City Saturday August 12, 06:53 PM
GOTHENBURG, Sweden (Reuters) - Sweden goalkeeper Andreas Isaksson has signed a three-year contract with Premier League club Manchester City, Swedish public television SVT reported on Saturday.
"I grew up with the Premier League. It feels good," said Isaksson, who moves from French club Stade Rennes.
Manchester City are paying 27 million Swedish crowns (198 million pounds) for Isaksson, the TV channel said.
Isaksson, 24, is his country's first choice goalkeeper and played in three of Sweden's four matches in the World Cup.
Sweden lost 2-0 in the second round to Germany, but the scoreline could have been bigger but for Isaksson.
