After a 4 month wait, I finally got hold of a copy of The Texas-Jerusalem Crossroads, and I like it. I damn hell like it.
Has anyone got more information on this band or Josh Pearson's solo material?

I think that was just about all they put out. Josh still does solo stuff (think he's going to be doing some fest in England soon).

Earlier on in the decade, apparently Josh Pearson played a legendary show in Aberdeen. No use to me though, damn missing the boat again!

I saw them in a club in Denton with no a/c a million years ago. Good stuff.

"Members of the Polyphonic Spree, pay attention."
Ouch!
(I mean this in reference to the fickle nature of the UK music press,
obviously)

Yeah, he's playing at the End of the Road festival in a couple of weeks. Hopefully not in the tiny Bimble Inn where it's really difficult to see / hear anyone playing.
Last time we saw him we picked up a live solo album recorded in Hull from the merch booth, there's also a 7" of I'm so lonesome I could cry (split single with the Dirty Three).

I have some pretty funny Josh Pearson stories. Some from my days in the Spree, some from before...
I love LTE but I have to say the original recordings blow those out of the water. Dave Willingham had the originals; need to check if he actually gave them to me, but I've heard them and it's truly landmark. Whoever did the final mix for Bella Union sorta ruined it for me...
The drama of that band....one of a kind.

We've been lucky enough to see Josh three or four times in the UK.
I'm soooo ready for End of the Road Festival. Going to be good times, but yes... I hope its not in the Bimble Inn... cool concept, but really freakin tiny.

mmm Saturday night:
Main Stage
21.30 - 23.00 Fleet Foxes
Big Top Stage
21.15 - 22.15 The Horrors
22.45 - 23.45 Josh T Pearson
00.00 - 02.00 DJ's Jarvis Cocker & Richard Hawley
so it looks like Big Top with a quick wander to the main stage between the Horrors and Josh's headline set. *excited*

Wow, an hour slot on Saturday night? Nice! I hope the crowd loves it.
