better than the original?

Music, movies, entertainment, etc. Because James wanted it (and seems like a pretty good idea)

No, not better than the original, and I'll tell you why.

No crazy Graham Coxon guitar line.

But Pet Shop Boys covers are generally good, and this one too is good. No Blur though.

i always thought that song was Blur trying to be a disco band, and as such i don't really think of Coxon's guitar work. in that regard PSB > Blur. but it's an excellent number.

I agree I thought they were trying to be a disco band/duran duran as well. Coxon's guitar work saves this song for me; makes it unique. I would hate the song otherwise and probably not be as big of a Blur fan as a result. To each their own though...

I hunestly didn't even know this was a Blur song, I think this is always the way I heard it in my head.

I think PSB might be old men about now, they hardly move anymore.

I like the original more mostly because it rocks and it came out at a time in my life when I was learning there was more music out there, I was watching Alternative Nation and 120 minutes. But the PSB version is pretty kick ass.

PSB > Blur
warming up my ban hammer...

plus, major props to Blur for having the PSB version on the Girls & Boys single.

Trivia note: Thom Yorke lists this song as one he wishes he had written.

now now, no need to pull out yr divine hammer...PSB and Blur both rule, but in different ways; jess sayin' that PSB's version is better than Blur's.

but that explains why i can't find that b-side on the PSB singles from that time! *looks for Blur single*
