Nightmare Revisited (warning, Spree content)

Music, movies, entertainment, etc. Because James wanted it (and seems like a pretty good idea)

Nightmare Revisited (warning, Spree content)

Postby aquaphase » Thu Nov 06, 2008 3:39 am

So I picked up Nightmare Revisited today. Squeezle and I just spent a whopping week and a half at Disneyworld and they were pimping this record pretty hard at all the Nightmare Before Christmas displays. Generally, I thought the artist mix was pretty eclectic, and I loves me some Skeleton Jack & Company, so I gave it a go. All in all, a pretty solid record. However, the Spree track sucks balls. Way to take one of my favorite songs from the movie (Town Meeting Song) and turn it into an unrecognizable nine minute mess (the original soundtrack version is 2:57).

Otherwise, it's pretty damn interesting. I was actually surprised that I liked the tracks by bands I wouldn't otherwise touch with a ten-foot cattle prod: Korn, All-American Rejects, Flyleaf, Plain White Ts, etc..

Plus, the record has a bonus track of Tiger Army doing Oogie Boogie's Song: one of my favorite bands and songs of all time. That alone makes the album worth the purchase.

Oh I HATE that Flyleaf version of What Is This. The way it's sung is such a downer, and Jack's full of excitement and WONDER during that song. None of the other songs on the album make me want to stick sharp things in my ears, though.

I hate it, too--they shouldn't have mixed it in Dubly!
