But really, in listening to a Beatles/Queen ripoff, doesn't it remind you how much better it would be just listening to the Beatles/Queen?

I gotcher back, Mere.
Because I'm also guilty. My son was playing Angels and Airwaves the other day and my head started saying yes to the music just a little bit.

I call ELO, at least at the begining. They're just tricking you into thinking it just sounds like Sgt Peppers because of the band costumes.
I can't say that I'm impressed, but I won't hold P!ATD against you.

Yes, I hear that, too -- the driving quarter notes on piano is very Mr. Blue Sky.
I'm just a sucker for a catchy hook! Thanks for getting my back, Hifi. I feel less shame.

I really wanted to like them because I like their name and their disk was only 5 bucks or some junk at target a couple years ago, or maybe a year ago, and this chick i liked liked them, so yeah I tried. a couple times. just can't get into it. but this song ain't totally annoyingly bad like their cd I bought. Also, Cute is What we Aim For. blah.

I too caught myself liking them one day with a song that didn't sound like antyhing they would have ever done. However, that has not prompted me to purchase any of their music.

I saw this video today. Mr. Blue Sky all the way...unfortunately, I'm going through some sort of metamorphosis whereby all new music seems to turn into white noise as soon as the person starts singing...I'm hoping there's pills for it...
