I like the fact that it sounds like a song from "Sea Change", but it's really a song that's entirely unnecessary to cover. I'd rather see him do another song off that record, like "Know" or "Parasite"...

yeah it's not really grabbing me either.
BUT I must say I just saw an episode of Futurama the other day with Beck...awesome!

Yeah, that totally does not make me want to by a VW.
If you can't match the lilting quality of his vocals, I think you have to take it in a totally different direction.

I love cover songs.
I like this one -- but it doesn't sound like something interesting and new that he should have released. Rather, it sounds like something he sang nicely with his bandmates on a tour bus.
