XTC RIP

Music, movies, entertainment, etc. Because James wanted it (and seems like a pretty good idea)

That's really not all that official, and that information isn't that new. It's not like XTC fans aren't used to waiting near-decades for new albums anyway...

But if it is the end, that's cool. No band can touch their output anyway...

Yea, new XTC album = bonus. But I don't think anyone's been holding their breath.

Not to draw a comparison, because I have the feeling Andy's not as finicky as Robert - but I don't know HOW many times the Cure were pronounced dead, only to release something new after a year or three.

Yeah, but XTC = Andy + Colin. Anything less isn't XTC. The Cure is Robert (although I would say it's not the same without Simon Gallup, but he doesn't write like Colin does). I'm sure Andy will continue on as a solo artist, or working with others (like Monstrance which is finally coming out).

I suppose I could ask; I know Colin's son....sort of

Last, but not important,ha ha.Fuzzyface."hows solo album coming on?".Lots of bits of song{100 or more?},I'm in too weird a place mentally at the moment to finish any up.IE:no band left, the buggers, tinnitus,a dismal feeling of failure in my goals/dreams,dont know how to bloody well work my new recording setup yet, laziness, hatred of record industry, run out of things to say????,struggling with the ageing process{I'm nearly 54 and I'm still making pop music for fucks sake and living in a terraced house in Swindon and to some extent, blank canvas syndrome, starting is tough.
Well, he definitely thinks it's over. This is from his Q/A on the XTC website. But hey, what a run...[/b]
