Zeppelin mix CD

Well, I found out the other day that the guitarist in my band is not aware of any Led Zeppelin and doesn't own any of their records. After I was revived and had a bit of a lie down, I decided to make her a CD. Here is the tracklisting:
1. Black Dog
2. Custard Pie
3. The Song Remains the Same
4. The Rain Song
5. Going to California
6. Bron-Y-Aur Stomp

9. Ramble on

What do people think? Good/Bad comp?

I'd skip Black Dog and go for something beautiful like Tangerine.

Well he does have "Going To California" on there...I love "Tangerine" though...but I disagree, "Black Dog" is a complete classic. I would also add "Immigrant Song". And probably "Communication Breakdown".

You have to put Black Dog on any Zeppelin compilation. Tangerine and Communication Breakdown would have probably made it another day, but I spotted other songs first.
If she doesn't like this CD, I will not be impressed.

If she doesn't like that CD, she should put down the guitar and walk away from music. It's not about liking Led Zep, but they are the essence of rock n roll...I know a lot of people that don't like them, but it's usually becuase they don't care for Plant's vocals. Everybody knows the riffs....and as a guitarist it's essential as a basis...

I told her to ignore Robert Plants vocals to begin with, he just wants to have sex with everyone, its nothing personal.
I don't understand how a guitarist in a rock band can really function if they don't have an appreciation of the wonderousness of Led Zeppelin, how can they not think Custard Pie or The Ocean are amazing songs to play?!

Some people can't get past Plant's vocals. I can ignore them but they usually don't bother me. But as far as being in the genre of rock, not just a guitarist...those other guys are pillars of their respective instruments. I suppose Plant is as a frontman as well but...
I hope she digs it.
If you want a bit of interesting borrowing, check out Franz Ferdinand's "Take Me Out" guitar riff and then listen to "Trampled Under Foot". Same?

It's the beat that's exactly the same, the notes are similar...every time I hear the FF I sing the LZ song...there's also a Styx song that has the same beat and it can intertwine with it but I can't think of what it is.
