the ultimate covers bands

Music, movies, entertainment, etc. Because James wanted it (and seems like a pretty good idea)

the ultimate covers bands

Postby eebs » Thu Dec 21, 2006 11:23 am

I was thinking of what my ultimate covers bands would be and came up with:

Surfing Stevens - the songs of Sufjan Stevens and Shaking Stevens performed by a Dick Dale style guitarist.

What would your ultimate covers band be?

I like hearing Galactic cover just about anything. I'll have to give this one some more thought.

I think we may have a winner.

Or how about Grrrls Aloud. Sleater Kinney play the songs of Girls Aloud.

Rodeohead - The songs of Radiohead played bluegrass style
This has been around awhile.

And it's not very good bluegrass. Kinda western swing/cowboy sing-a-long/blue grass. Riders In The Sky kind of stuff.

How about "Rebuild the Wall" by Luther Wright and the Wrongs.

Pink Floyd's "The Wall" done bluegrass style - I only have heard a couple of tracks, and it was a while back, but I thought it was quite good.

Are you on the list?

Are you disparaging Ranger Doug? That's not healthy in these here parts.

(it may be the easy way, but it's not the Cowboy Way)
