...direct me to a comprehensive guide to live shows in the D/FW area? i mean, i know about the individual venues, and i know about daughter, but i'm looking for something more comp. than that. is there one? i have a friend who's going to D-town this weekend, and i'm trying to get him some good entertainment ideas.

also, is voot cha index a good live band?

I generally use a combination of pollstar and the various band and venue sites that I hit on a regular basis. www.dallasmusicguide.com is ok.

Personally, I would just check www.flamingkitty.com for all the shows that are worth going to ;). I hear that guy has good taste.

yeah, the torpedo interface was from way back in 2003, so I was thinking it was about change time.

I agree about voot cha. I support the kids, because they are friends of CJ (Good Records) and on his label. They are good kids and their music is fun in a they might be giants meets of montreal sort of way. But they are young...and their live show kind of reflects that. But on the flip side, it is great to see kids doing stuff like that. But, indeed, don't go out of your way. The ONLY show to see this weekend in dallas is the starlight mints (of course it is denton) but that is my recommendation....oh yeah and MIDLAKE!!!!! Come to think of it...if you can see Midlake and Starlight Mints in two days...you should be a happy urban camper.
