My God! I think 29c is about 85 in farenheit, so that is exceptionally hot for Aberdeen.

Plus, I was stuck next to an oven set to 175c for most of today. Mmm, I was glad to have a can of Tennents when I got home...

How is everyone elses summer?

Well, it was about 41c all day today (there is no relief in sight), so I've been staying inside a lot.

i think we hit the 30's today - apparently the record uk temp is 38.5C (102.4F) and there is a good chance it could be warmer in london than dallas tomorrow / wednesday looking at the google forecasts (dallas dropping from 104 to 100....)

got the day off tomorrow so we're going record shopping in camden 8) then eating ice cream and melting on the tube

Thank god; I would be distraught if I was missing a nice cool summer back home. Atlanta isn't as hot as texas, but by god it's humid. sweaty sweat sweat.

Well I did have to wear a light cardigan to work last week because it was chilly in the morning. ;) But it has warmed up over the past few days.

From an AP story on the heat across the US this week:

"At the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden, gorillas got frozen fruit treats, bears played with ice-covered fish, elephants were hosed down, and large fans, water sprinklers and kiddie pools helped other animals stay cool."

- Mere "the thought of baby gorillas sitting on a front porch step eating popsicles is too adorable :]" 1975

from sfgate: "The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco,'' a saying that is almost a San Francisco cliche, turns out to be an invention of unknown origin, the coolest thing Mark Twain never said.

yes, but it's still true  and what's even better is that you can be in one part of the city and it's hot (the mission) and another part and it's freezing (the haight or sunset). now that's micro climates for ya

(keep in mind SF is small small small only 7 x7 miles)

95*. Feels like 99*. HUMID.

We are hopefully getting thunderstorms in an hour or so, which will cool everything right on down. I hate the heat and love my air conditioning.
