hahah wee
not into subtlety...

you should get her something she wants
but put it in a box of something dumb.
just for the shocked look on her face.

highschool musical soundtrack...15 dollars
torn up copy of "Chutes and Ladders"... five dollars
psyching the hell out of your kid just for the look on her face... priceless!

it's even crueler to put something she doesn't want inside the box of something she does want.

that happened to me once. i got a teddy bear inside of a tv box or something.

Oh yeah, never mind.

that reminds me of last christmas and i had a gift from my sister and it was shaped like a calendar and i was preparing myself to fake a happy reaction but then i unwrapped it and it was a record (Revolver) so i was much relieved.

i think the underlying theme here is that wee knows what her daddy's about, and has to remind him 'don't get me anything dumb.'

ah, the joys of being a regular, manly dude who has a girly-girl daughter. what a recipe for wholesome family wackiness! someone should make a movie!

manly? i mean, certainly not unmanly. but i wouldn't think MANLY right off the bat. part of hifi's sexiness is his in-touchness.

did i just say out oud that hifi is wicked sexy? in a married guy kind of way. shit. need more coffee.

i think you should get wee a guitar. a good guitar. and some congas.

ya know...
if wee had been my kid
i probably would have replied with this:

"hi honey! father's day is coming up and i am sooooo excited! i can't wait!! i would like some beer, a t-bone steak, some more beer, your braces to be paid for, a weekend's fishing vacation in alaska, anything really, i dont care what you get me because you know what i like but please dont get me anything dumb."

froggy: you can be a manly dude and be sensitive. the best manly dudes are totally able to fool women into thinki.,..whoops, shouldn't have let THAT one out. and i bet jimbo's a dude who would pass up going to an art gallery in favor of getting drunk by a bridge and yelling at cars.

ps. if you look at his myspace, there's a wonderful pic that i like to interpret as "wee learns a lesson about 'pull my finger' in public"

pps. jimbo, how's her swearing comin' along?

I haven't spot-checked the cussing in awhile. Although both kids were begging to try some new ones the other day. I told them to wait a bit longer. You know, let the words simmer and bubble and get good and ripe so when they are finally taken for a test run... they are good and shocking.

Oh! And a certain somebody had 8 donut holes for breakfast yesterday morning. And then we took her out for dinner to her favorite restaruant - Chuy's. Then we walked around the fancy pants shops down the street and rode the street car. She wore a new dress and we listened to High School Musical in the car until I thought my brain would explode.
