WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A sharply divided U.S. Supreme Court ruled on Thursday that evidence could be used even when the police entered a suspect's home illegally by failing to knock on the door or announce their presence.

By a 5-4 vote, splitting along conservative-liberal lines, the high court ruled that a police violation of the so-called knock-and-announce rule does not require that the evidence seized during the search be thrown out.

I'd like to sing a little song I wrote the other day, it's about my great country:

If tomorrow all the things were gone,
I’d worked for all my life.
And I had to start again,
with just my children and my wife.

I’d thank my lucky stars,
to be livin here today.
‘Cause the flag still stands for freedom,
and they can’t take that away.

And I’m proud to be an American,
where at least I know I’m free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.

From the lakes of Minnesota,
to the hills of Tennessee.
Across the plains of Texas,
From sea to shining sea.

From Detroit down to Huston,
and New York to L.A.
Well there's pride in every American heart,
and its time we stand and say.

That I’m proud to be an American,
where at least I know I’m free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.

And I’m proud to be and American,
where at least I know I’m free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA

Does yelling "POLICE!" really matter when they are 'knocking' on your door with a battering ram?

Yeah, it gives me time to flush all the amphetamines manufacturing equipment I have down the toilet.

Now I know why Sam and I always hang out at my place.

GBC = meth capital of da world, bitch.
That's a good slogan. They should put that on the Welcome to GBC sign.

1) I'm glad I don't live in the US anymore. Of course, over here, it's worse because the police did a massive raid of a suspected terrorist's home, only to find nothing. They even shot one of them and dragged him down some stairs. Then they apologised for the harm they "might have" caused.

2) Consequently, this should make it interesting for those who shoot first and ask questions later when unannounced police are in someone's home and they get shot because the homeowner doesn't know who they are. Seems it could a dangerous business for everyone.

If this is something that will supposedly help them catch terrorists, well...they're pretty stupid and naive for thinking that.
