that account was too personal, and the one now is much more 'official' for my website. plus, i'm kind of freaked about what happened to janikphoto. considering that i'm working with kids, i really don't want to have a personal myspace account any more. i've heard of students finding their teacher, befriending them, and then the teacher losing their jobs because of that....

Hey Mr. J. I was flipping through my Magnet Magazine yesterday and just happened to see one y'alls reviews quoted for an album.

I was like "Hey!"

read mr j's link to "a warning about blogging"

That was the last straw for me. I deleted all of my blog posts and most of my pics, and am using it for a means of contact only now.

ok I read it..it seems a bit unfair and such...and I can buy that people do search for you on myspace and all...I guess but jeez, does this mean we should all crawl back under our rocks and never come out again???

come on where do you draw the line? and if it is "big brother" then all the other journals etc are subject to the same thing. so you may as well shut your mouth and never speak again.

those same terms and conditions don't apply to any other blog place. They didn't apply to Myspace until Rupert Murdoch bought it.

I will start a new blog eventually, probably on my own domain.

I'm not saying to shut up. I'm saying I'm just not doing it on Myspace.

fair enough, but seems like all sites could be potential snoop zones if someone wanted it enough.

well, i don't think it's really a question of big brother, and i don't blame rupert murdoch as much as i blame the fact that it became a teen hangout, and as parents simply abandon their teenagers to the internet, bad things are bound to happen.

i really can't blame employers for checking out what potential employees are doing, especially if what they do involves either sensitive material or dealings with children. seeing what happened to janik was a real wake-up call to me; i'd heard about teachers being fired for having myspace accounts and associating with students online.

meh.

but, sadly, there is truth in that; parents simply turn a blind eye to what their kids do online, and some take the 'as long as they're on the computer, they're not out in the streets getting in trouble' mentality. sadly, those parents often really miss the forest for the trees.

I can't remember right now. It was a ad for an album. I think it was... Caroline or something like that. The quote was to the effect that this was one of the best albums of the year.

Your quote was listed first.
