i've been cleaning a lot of spyware off of my computer lately, and everytime i go onto myspace, i get a helluva lot of weird pop-ups that i get nowhere else. is it just me or is myspace crawling with spyware?

Upon further investigation, it seems so.

I ran all of my spyware programs and they all found quite a bit after i had been digging around on myspace. It came up with a significant amount of stuff. After cleaning it, I went to every single website I frequent otherwise besides myspace, and did another scan. Nothing.

I don't know if anyone else is getting the pop-ups saying that you have system errors or you're not secure, and it looks like a Windows XP pop up, except the top part has the name of a website and not any sort of alert. And it keeps making my windows go from all the way open to partially minimised.

i had that problem a while back, whenever i looked at blogs it would send me straight to a page "asking" if i wanted to download winfixer.

i normally disconnect from the net when i get that and then reconnect again. the only place i get a problem like that is myspace....

i think that the crap is imbedded in those programs that people use to mack out their pages. pretty sure that is what it is.

That could be because, as anyone who's been to my MySpace knows, it's pretty empty and I never get anything like has been described. Although...my daughter has been fixing her page up with some of that stuff.

(Maybe I should go run SpySweeper now.)

I've had problems with a blank popup page that covers the entire browser so I can see nothing when I'm on myspace, but Drew thinks it's from some free offers I was filling out before. Ctrl Alt Delete helps get me to Task Manager, then I find Doubleclick on Ad Aware.
