peet's coffee is better (FACT). however, I realize you may not actually have a peet's in your city. Sorry for that. They have the most delicious roasted coffee.
Peet's was the original inspiration for now-rival Starbucks. The three founders of Starbucks knew Alfred Peet personally, founded Starbucks in Seattle, Washington, as kindred spirits, and bought the coffee beans for Starbucks directly from Peet's during their first year of business in 1971. Peet sold his business in 1979 but stayed on as a coffee buyer until 1983. In 1984 Jerry Baldwin, one of the original founders of Starbucks, and co-owner Jim Reynolds, the roastmaster, with a group of investors bought Peet's four Bay Area locations. In 1987, Baldwin and Peet's owners sold the Starbucks chain to focus on Peet's, and Baldwin and Howard Schultz, Starbucks' new owner, entered into a no-compete agreement in the Bay Area.

Peet's just has better tasting coffee is all I'm saying. starbucks is basically swill these days. Smaller biz = more hands on roasting of the product. Starbucks is GIANT and I've noticed a change for the worse. Starbucks used to be just fine tasting.peet's coffee is better (FACT). however, I realize you may not actually have a peet's in your city. I haven't been to work since that announcement, but since Dubai is the "hip" country over there, I imagine we'll be cool in business casual.

Agreed 100%. I love their cappucino, hate their regular coffee. Plus I prefer making plain coffee at home, where I can get aroused at the smell as I grind the coffee beans. mmmmmm. *sorry* i'm exaggerating... kind of. anyway nothing beats the smell of freshly ground coffee, but nothing beats a cappucino made by someone else. its so much more luxurious. It's also what makes it taste burnt. I hate Starbucks' drip coffee for this very reason. It's gross - distinguish that.thats what makes starbucks distinguishable from other brands.
However, as the espresso goes, I confess to being a total whore for the iced quad venti vanilla soy latte.
