omg, yes I remember going to the movies with my aunt and cousin waiting in the longest line I'd ever seen for star wars. my aunt made us bring our own popcorn and sodas...grrrr but the movie was cool.

Haha! I remember sneaking cokes and popcorn into movies as a kid, I wonder if people still do that!

Wow. That jogged a long lost memory.

Standing in line with my dad during the opening week. I was wide-eyed at how long the line was to get in. And I was excited because it was the first time I was going to get to see a movie indoors. My parents always did drive-ins before that so we could fall asleep in the back of the car.

I fell asleep during the movie and I was awakened by the cheering crowd. Luke had just swung across the gap with Leia and I missed it. Weeks later everyone would talk about that scene at school and I felt jipped because I snoozed during what sounded like the best part ever.

I love movie popcorn, that's half the fun for me. I will bring my own water and candy in...cuz I can't see paying their prices. I figured I paid to go to the movie and I bought popcorn, so my hot tamales are coming in with me.

That is how I saw Star Wars.

In pajamas, in the back of the station wagon.

i went to see it at the local cinema here, i think my mum fell asleep watching it too. it was strange years later when they reissued it for cinema release seeing it at the same cinema on the same screen that it still had that "wow" factor.

do they still have drive in cinemas in Dallas? I've never been to one before - over here the windscreen wipers would have got in the way of the film

We are very fortunate in that we have two within driving distance. The Brazos is southwest of Fort Worth and The Galaxy is south of Dallas. It's a heck of a drive for someone living in the northern suburbs but well worth it.
