Bad Day For Chevelle
Updated 02:12 PDT Fri, May 11 2007

Chicago-based rockers Chevelle were victims of a robbery May 9 when a trailer packed with more than $200,000 worth of gear and personal items was stolen from the parking lot of the Clarion Dallas Park Central hotel.

The incident took place at approximately 11 a.m. and forced the band to reschedule dates on its tour. The scrapped concerts were to take place in Lubbock, Amarillo and Odessa, Texas, and Boulder, Colo.

The group is urging anyone with information about a light gray KZ Cargo Trailer, Illinois plate 57002, to please call their local police department or send an email to thestolenchevellegear@hotmail.com.

The majority of the missing items are labeled "Chevelle" and include several custom guitars, road cases, amplifiers, a drum kit, in-ear monitors, microphones, merchandise, and much more.

"Any information would be greatly appreciated," vocalist/guitarist Pete Loeffler said. "We want to get back on the road immediately, but obviously need to get our gear back. Thanks for your support and understanding. Let's catch these f*#kers."

Chevelle was touring in support of new album Vena Sera with the help of the band's endorsement companies, the trio is in the process of acquiring replacement gear which will allow the tour to resume May 17 in Urbana, Ill

that aside, I remember walking into some club on 6th st. in austin and seeing these kids (brothers) rock the house....their name was chevelle...they were really only kids like around 10 -15 years old...crazy.

The bad news:
they lost $200,000 worth of equipment

The good news:
They didn't have to go to Lubbock, Amarillo and Odessa, Texas.

Boy. If that incident back in '63 give Dallas a bad rap, this'll surely do it.
