They like Jesus in Scotland, but not that much. It is a bank holiday on Monday, but we work on Good Friday.

aha - that would explain an email i got at work yesterday. glad i wasn't too sarcastic when i pointed out that the office would be shut today

I still can't believe a county where most of the people claim they don't even practice religion...still get a holiday for easter.

That's because the official religion of England is Christianity, specifically Protestantism. The official religion of the USA = none. I think it's more for official holidays than anything; most people don't give a shit about it apart for the chocolate easter eggs...I still can't believe a county where most of the people claim they don't even practice religion...still get a holiday for easter.
