For Michael Turner and the British set

Postby mere1975 » Mon Jan 22, 2007 6:26 am

I had a Pimm's Cup on Friday night.

Once I mixed it up, it was OK -- but at first, it was a lot like cough medicine.

What did you drink it with? Sprite?

It is really good when you have lots of fruity bits in it.

Winter Pimms is good too. Especially mixed with Ginger beer.

I heart Pimms.

you tried it neat? :D

Also, it better have been winter cup, because everyone knows you're only allowed to drink No 1. on Henley Weekend.

Not neat. (But the first few sips weren't mixed well.)

Pimm's + ginger ale + ice + cucumber slice

Pimm's + ginger ale + ice + cucumber slice
Gross.

If you want to enjoy it, might I recommend

Pimm's + lemonade (er, sprite or 7 up will have to do for you USAers) + ice + orange wedge

as much as I love cucumber, with Pimm's it sounds ghastly.

PS- for thorough enjoyment, it really does need to be hot outside.

The USA has the real lemonade, no doubt. It just wouldn't taste right with Pimm's.

pimms....why? when you're in england drink bitter, ale, lager, or stout! mixed drinks in the uk can suck my arse. not worth the bother. measured pours can bite me. \/

So ordering Pimms in January was a bit of a faux pas?

Like eating out-of-season fruit in the winter, or egg nog in the summer?

Interesting. It didn't taste summer-y.

oh james james james. cucumber is not ghastly, it's necessary in the preparation. also i'm confused why you think you can't use real lemonade?

it's generally prepared as a punch, or in a jug, so that the fruit can flavour the mixture a bit. mint leaves are important too.

Ha! Sweet.

In Michael Turner voice: "Pimm's and Lemonade."

...or, in a pinch (also in deep, throaty [not "deep-throat-y"] Michael Turner voice): "Double Jameson's and Lemonade."
