Meet Sasha!

We got a new puppy about two weeks ago. She's eight weeks old, and we think she is some kind of blue heeler mix, even though the Animal Defense League had her listed as a Great Pyrenees mix.
Maggie (our seven year old terrier mix) wasn't crazy about Sasha at first, mainly because Sasha was trying to nurse off of Maggie, which is enough to piss off anyone. But they are starting to get really playful. If anyone has any advice on socializing a puppy and an older dog, I am all ears. I've read that it's good for puppies to learn from older dogs, but I've also read that if puppies spend too much time with an older dog, they will become more attached and loyal to the dog than their owner.
Also, my new dog is a genius because she is only eight weeks old and she already has pottytraining pretty much figured out. I know she's too young to have complete control over her bladder, but she doesn't eliminate in her crate and she always goes outside. I've talked about pee pee and poo poo more in the last few days than I have in my whole life.
We went to Petsmart and talked to the girl who does the puppy classes. She had a huge pitbull, and it was the most well-trained dog I've ever met. Logan and I had previously decided that we could probably find a better trainer somewhere other than Petsmart, but he took one look at this tiny girl and this gigantic obedient pitbull, and immediately decided that she would be the one helping us train our dog.
I don't know if all Defense Leagues are the same, but I was highly impressed with the ADL in San Antonio. Everyone was really friendly and knew what they were talking about. Plus it was only an $80 donation for Sasha, all of her puppy shots, her spaying, her microchip, a month's worth of pet insurance, and a month's worth of food. The shots alone would be several hundred dollars at a regular vet.
This is her going after the camera:
