"The sweetness of Splenda derives from a chlorocarbon chemical that contains three atoms of chlorine in every one of its molecules. The manufacturer of this chlorinated compound named it sucralose. The improper use of “ose” in the name creates the illusion that sucralose is natural like sucrose which is the precise name for table sugar."

so basically splenda is made of chlorine and some idiot put "ose" at the end therefore johnson and johnson can advertise that splenda is "made from sugar". FDA = devil.

This has been known for a few years. All the people have ignored it for the sugary sweetness.

All of those sweeteners are bad news; this isn't really a shock is it?

One thing I've definitely noticed from living in the UK is that US food is, overall, really bad for you. Even the vegetables; they're all 'roided up like Barry Bonds...

The only real question is whether you prefer yellow poison, blue poison or pink poison.

P.S.
Me: In England, do you have Splenda and Equal to sweeten tea?
Steve: We have sugar.

It should be noted that that website is brought to you by the Sugar Association.

The Sugar Association has taken a huge hit from the Splenda and has really gone on a bender to slap it around a bit to boost their bottom line.

White refined sugar is as nasty as any fake sweetener.

I don't know about that... high fructose corn syrup, yeah.
But plain white sugar?

How did you find that? I looked up the owner of the Website, figuring it was the Aspartame Foundation or Saccharine Foundation, but it was just listed anonymously.

I used to eat like a mofo when I was a teen and I was skinny as a rake but after 1 trip to the US I came back weighing 2 stones more than I did 3 months earlier and sporting a flabby belly...maybe it was my body's metabolism rate suddenly decreasing but my diet in the UK shortly before I left consisted of chocolate, coke, crisps , curry and chinese food, none of which I guess would be good for a person's waistline but I never put on a pound from the 10 1/2 stone I weighed from when I was 14-21...but as soon as I started with the american fried food and chocolate etc my belly grew quickly...the portions were pretty much the same and the 'exercise rate' was the same...I've lost half a stone since I the summer and I've still been eating a lot although I cook everything from scratch here so I try find ingredients with as little additives as possible...I wonder what the main difference between the foods is then...I notice on practically every label on foods in america it says high fructose corn syrup...is that just the same as the glucose syrup we have? I don't notice glucose syrup in as much stuff here though

Yes, because sugar is not naturally white. What they do to it to get it white makes it as unhealthy as all of the other fake sugars...

i know they're all bad for you, but i didn't realize that their marketing campaign resulted from mis-naming a molecule. i thought splenda actually had more of a relation to sugar than the other sweeteners, while still being poisonous.

i only use sweeteners in iced tea because regular sugar never disolves.

Steve: We have sugar.
Actually Splenda is all over the place here. Most of the coffee places have Splenda. It even comes in tablet form.
