A hilarious old friend from high school e-mailed me out of the blue. We hadn't spoken since I moved to Texas in 1992, so I looked up her bio on her law firm's Web site to find out what she had been up to.
In 1998, (she) was selected as a United States Fulbright Scholar, and completed her thesis on indigenous agriculture in Zimbabwe, Africa. She also participated in a law study abroad program in Bangkok, Thailand, in 2001.
All of a sudden, I feel like I have accomplished wayyyyy less that I thought I had since high school.

I've been threatening to run away and join the Peace Corps after I get my degree. And after I retire. ;)

i'm really glad that neither of my older siblings are like your friend. i think i'd need therapy for life if my brother was as smart as he is AND motivated. he's smarter than me, but stupider emotionally and financially, so he's taking his sweet time with school. my sister did really well in school but she isnt a genius or anything, plus she's in a totally different field.

"i got nothing, ma, to live up to"

i feel sorry for the youngest children in over-achiever families. poor guys.

dal "if any of my siblings went to harvard i'd shit on them" ya
