As many of you know, I have a music-minded website. Well, I did an interview with this really talented fellow who releases music under the name Benoit Pioulard. We were talking about literature, and we were talking about how reading is a lost art, especially considering how many musicians are inspired by literature and reading. I told him about my 'read a book a week' policy, and afterwards, I was talking to another friend of mine about this interview conversation. It was stated that reading a book a week is great, but what's the point of reading if you don't share what it is you've read with the world?
I couldn't answer that question.
So I decided to start a site that serves as a literary supplement to Mundane Sounds. It's called My Little Read Book. I just wanted to share this little bit of information w/you forkers out there, what with you all being a well-read bunch. I know it's not the most important thing in the world, but still, it's something I enjoy doing, and I like the idea of sharing book reports with the world. First entry is a book entitled Planet Joe, written by Joe Cole.
so, ya know, check it out, yo.
I went kind of geeky, OR how I decided I loved being a nerd!

thats why i want to leave UTD. in my lit classes we don't even discuss the books. well, that's not true. in one of them we do because the professor is really good and there are more lit majors in it. in my tuesday class it's hell. there are only 3 of us who say anything and the rest of the class' eyes glaze over. whats the point in reading the books if we can't even argue about them?

Frederick Turner is still there. He has some interesting ideas.thats why i want to leave UTD. in my lit classes we don't even discuss the books. well, that's not true. in one of them we do because the professor is really good and there are more lit majors in it. in my tuesday class it's hell. there are only 3 of us who say anything and the rest of the class' eyes glaze over. whats the point in reading the books if we can't even argue about them?
I took a film class at UTD from Dr. Adrienne McLean. It was about Alfred Hitchcock, and I thought we'd be talking about lighting and suspense -- but a lot of it was about his treatment of female characters, symbolism and much deeper analysis of his body of work as a whole. It was really cool.
I say take a film class from her in the spring semester if you can.

i'm already planning on taking a film class
it's tuesday night from 7 to 9:45. I wanted to take it this semester but I decided to take 2 lit classes instead. i took a film class in highschool and i was in film club and a digital media class where we made films. nerd alert! for a while i wanted to go to NYU film school but then i realized that was pretty much impossible, so then I didn't go to college.
now it's 4 years later and I'm probably gonna got to NYU next year. i'm sensing a cycle.
