I just saw this news! I loved that guy. I remember the last time I saw him on 60 Minutes and noticing that he didn't look well - I just put it down to getting older like everyone else on that program. Little did we know.

This is a big loss for journalism. Television news has degenerated into logos, theme songs and sound bites. The Ed Bradleys of the world are a disappearing breed, and we will all be the poorer for their passing.

I like old newsmen. not in a dirty way, they're a dying breed.

:(

I always liked the guy too, but his credits are even more impressive than I would have thought.

I didn't know he had an earring either.

This may be shallow, but the appearance of the +50 earring generally puts a crease in your credibility, as far as I'm concerned. Still sucks to lose an actual journalist. How many are left these days?
