Don't worry, the money goes straight to the foundation, not to me....which is probably for the best

I saw Cirque du Soleil in Vegas once. It was totally worth EVERY penny.
This one looks awesome. Wish I could go with you Katie, but I'm on the wrong continent. :P

Have you been to Vegas? A grand? Where are you stayin for that kind of money?

You can get 3 or 4 night trips from Dallas for 300 to 400 including hotel. I think you need a new travel agent.

Actually, the best deal I was able to find was through American Airlines travel website (aavacations.com) This is for 5 days/4 nights at Treasure Island, 2 round trip tickets p[lus rental car...1300. What sucks is hotel rates drop a few days after we fly out there, but since our friends will be leaving by then it didn't seem worth it!

omg you've got to be kidding.

Flights to vegas are usually pretty darn cheap (southwest airlines) and then you book your hotel. stay at a smaller/older hotel on the strip. Since you're only gonna be sleeping there...you don't need the super expensive rooms (nice if you can afford it, but alas I cannot). Imperial Palace, Sahara or places like that, then you just visit all the fancy places.

Well seeing this is our first trip to Vegas, and this is the hotel our friends will be staying in, I didn't think nothing of it. I didn't know when I booked it that Southwest would start offering flights there. It really was the best I could find, without staying at the Vegas La Quinta!

Renting a car = mistake #1.
You can get a limo ride for $45, which (if you have at least three people) is cheaper than the hotel shuttle, and there are tons of busses & cabs.

Plus, driving on the strip? *shudder*

Oh, and YOU NEED A TRAVEL AGENT. Seriously; some of the best deals aren't pubished. if your dates are flexible, tell them to call you when something good comes across their desk. You can even give them a price; tell them you want to go for under $400 and see what they come up with.

yeah I never drive in vegas...either walk, taxi, or those trams they now have. however, NEVER, I repeat NEVER take the Strip bus...omg it runs like one every century.

Yeah the shuttles to/from the airport can be tedious as they make thier rounds dropping people off. I haven't taken a limo yet, but it's not such a bad idea.

I was just in Vegas this past July for a wedding....so I'm good for now.
