Rick Perry's virtual border watch program, where cameras are set up at the border and people can watch the footage online and call in illegal activity, is possibly the stupidest fucking thing I've ever heard.

I lived in an apartment with a closed circuit channel so I could see who was calling me from the gate to be let in, I I liked that.

That's totally the same, right?

Also, I thought it was pretty fucking stupid (more stupid than the DVD-blocking, IMO) when I couldn't play my legally aquired My Morning Jacket CD on my legally-aquired iPod because of BMG's copyright protection meant to stop pirating. I mean, it's only the most popular personal audio device ever invented, why should I expect the CD to work with it?

Virtual Borders, what a crock. A wall would work as it has in many other places. But enemies put up walls, not friends. Aren't they our friends? Oh, but this is about security.

I was more than a little upset about not being able to make a copy of "Z" for my husband's car. I try not to let him have originals in the car because he gets fingerprints all over them and drops them, etc...besides, this is Texas - cds MELT in the summer. I was able to find a work-around but it still angered me and I wrote a "I'm not a happy customer" letter to Sony but of course, I got no reply.
