I just got...

... my non-theatre dream job.

Bartender. At my favorite bar in the area. The same bar I applied to twice before, interviewed at, and was told I didn't have the experience to work at. When all the college kids went back to school, apparently things opened up.

This is pretty much the only job I think I'd like that is not related to the arts in any way. I can make a pretty penny, too, as I'm picking up Sunday and Monday mornings at this job and Sunday mornings during football season at a sports bar? FUCKIN' A.

Yay me!

I think being a bartender is a really cool job. Just don't let too many customers buy you drinks. It's prob. somewhat fun straight but more difficult if you're drinking.

So are you still in school?

Congrats. Hopefully, working the morning means you'll have the fun (generous tipping) drunks.

sheeeeeeeeeit. on opposite day.

but it will be fun experience, and you get (have) to talk to people.

advice from a vet:

1. don't let anyone get away with telling you to smile. you ain't their fucking date and if they could get one, they'd have one. is their drink full? then they need to shut the fuck up and stop telling you how to act before you spray them in the face with the windex.

B. save some cash. the constant cash is alluring, but i've seen far too many great artists become slaves to the dolla once they have a taste. then their craft takes a back seat, they forget why they are alive, and end up jumping off a bridge in their forties when their boobs are sagging and they have fucked every regular within a 100 foot radius. depressin.

have fun!

Don't forget your dancing dreams. Do it all you possibly can to stay in practice for tryouts and such.

thanks for the well-wishes, loves. i'm so excited. it should be fun times all around.

and gail, i'm not a dancer. i realize it might be confusing but though i enjoy dancing, i will never make my living at it nor will i be able to dance in anything but a musical theatre type setting. there may be some exceptions to that but in general, that's what i'm sticking to. my passion is choreography. making others dance. and i have a job coming up in december where i get to do just that. yayyyy!
