For your birthday, please enjoy this picture of Professor Ken Houston, Professor of Mathematical Studies at the School of Computing and Mathematics at The University of Ulster. Ken recently received a Distinguished Teaching Fellowship! Way to go Ken!

Also, commentary:

"OMG DO YOU SEE THIS? THE PART OF MY CAPE TAHT* GOES AROUND MY NECK TOTALLY GOES UNDER MY TIE! I bet you would've put it over your tie, wouldn't you? Hmm, well I guess that's why I'm receiving a Distinguished Teaching Fellowship at The University of Ulster and you're not."

hey!

thank you all for the wishes! :D

let's see, what did i do yesterday? Wellll....i stayed up all night the night before, listening to records and reminding myself why i love music. i know that's dorky as all get-out, but i needed it. and, of course, what did i do as i was doing it? Why, I wrote an essay about it, of course!

http://www.mundanesounds.com/2006/08/ed ... night.html

(major bonus points and my undying love if you can tell me who the girl is in the picture!)

anyway, the actual day was spent in quiet reflection. i had been terribly depressed the day before, and i had a migraine and was grouchy all day monday. so the day was spent thinking about life, and plotting my next move. which, by the way, is going to be quite interesting.

my dad bought me lunch (a rotissire chicken) and that afternoon i made a boston cooler, a small bowl of orange sherbet, and i made a chocolate cake! all the while i was listening to two new albums by two artists i really respect: Greg Graffin (out now and brilliant) and The Lemonheads (out in September and the BEST comeback album of the year)

then it was Big Brother and Supernova and then sleepy-time!

as for what i wore, i wore a cool tan shirt i bought at goodwill a while back, grey slacks, and sandals. my face was scruffy from a two-day stubble, and i looked dashing!

mere, you're a cornbread tease!

...Not nearly a dorky as using the phrase, "*insert anything here* as all get-out."

Here's what I got your for your birthday. It's a picture, taken 8-4-06 specifically for you, imported all the way from Chicago, IL!
