I'm So EXCITED!!!!!!

Re: I'm So EXCITED!!!!!!
if obama loses, i'll be devastated. but following this election has made me interested in politics and excited for where the country is going. i will be more active in following the decisions and policies of our government. i will applaud where i see good change and dissent with my voice raised when i see something bad. the inspiration to get in there and make a difference is what obama has personally done for me, and even if he loses (and i disagree it will be as close as 2000), i will carry that with me for a lifetime.
amen!

Me, too. I'm watching returns with my m-i-l who voted for McCain because she lives with my b-i-l with thinks that Obama is a "commie" and voted for the candidate in the US Senate race because she like his ads. (She's 83 so I forgive her.)I need a drink!

god, I know...so far it's a bit ahead, but they'll count every last vote for certain.
Re: I'm So EXCITED!!!!!!
i'm going to be the douche here. not only was your initial math fuzzy (closer than the two combined? so... a mean of the two? or as close as 2000 but closer than 2004? semantics, yes, but... yup), but i'm pointing out with facts.I think it'll be even closer than 2000 and 2004 combined.
obama: 349
mccain: 147
(not official yet, it's as close as i'm getting before i turn the computer off, so if i'm a few numbers off, don't sue me)
bush (2004): 286
kerry: 252
bush (2000): 271
gore (2000): 266
i don't want to call this a landslide, but... uhhh... it was kind of a landslide.
a lot of people don't, but i respect mccain still. i don't respect his people and i don't respect palin, but i respect him and what he's done for the country over the years. i think he fucked up big on this campaign by letting people tell him what to do and letting his handlers control too much.
obama's speech was moving, and i quite honestly was impressed with mccain's as well. now is the time for all of the people who supported either candidate to come forward and work our asses off for the good of the country. civil service. volunteering. help and support of our fellow man.
i feel like tonight is a great night for america and it is definitely something i will always remember.

ALSO: massachusetts passed question 2, which was the decriminalization of possession of marijuana (under 1 oz). FUCK YES. i couldn't be happier, frankly. (unless i knew what happened with prop 8 in cali, i can't find anything conclusive online.)

Re: I'm So EXCITED!!!!!!
landslide is a very fair assumption.
I agree I though McCain's speech was good last night and commented if he'd spoken like that throughout the election perhaps he might have won. But let's face it he was nasty and his pitt bull Palin was even nastier. Obama's speech beautiful and thoughtful as usual.
Pins and needles in CA, it's tight and not looking good on Prop 8, still no answer this morning either. It's a sad day on that front. perhaps once they count ALL the votes we'll know for sure...and they will count everylast vote to be certain!
OBAMA WON....YAY!!!!!!!!!!
