Hmmm. Rich-Bama or KtG? I'm thinking a good showing in the polls and fresh ideas could land Kathryn a cabinet-level position. I mean, what's more fun than being a bureaucrat?

Or you could run on the platform that this guy in college did when running for student body president, which is dissolve the student government and establish himself as king.

I must have blocked that from my memory. Of college elections, I remember Scott Wheatly, Scott McLendon, Greg Trevino, Jennifer Schooley, Jennifer Duncan and "Smell the aroma, vote for Toma."

And my friend Shawn Groves was some kind of officer.

Yeah, and I remember when they caught him, it was some Baptist minister or something. Figures.

The guy that ran for "king" was John Lamberth, who I have run into on occasion here and there, but used to DJ with the gang back in the day. I remember watching a debate with the candedates (don't remember the year), when one of the real candidates told him he was making a mockery of the position, to which he responded "no, I just want the free tuition, which is all you really want too but I have the balls to say it". Hilarity enused. I guess he won a lot of votes that day.

I voted in college elections the first time last Oct, because the candidate for "king" was standing outside the UC wearing an guy-riding-an-osterich costume the day of elecetions, so I stopped off was on my way to class.

I like candidates that go the extra mile.

Even after they caught The Reed Hall Flasher (it's a safe link) we never learned his name!

And he'd done this before at SMU.

I'd vote for you, if you were 40.

I thought one had to be 35 to run for president...?
It is 35. I just thought that 40 was Mere's personal requirement.

The awesome thing is that Dr. Frye is a kindly old English professor, if I remember correctly. It may have been that the campus police chased him down, but I'd like to think it was Dr. Frye now.

Our student body president in high school ran on a disco-inspired ballot. He made a splash at the debate showing up in a "Father Disco" costume that consisted of a white 3-piece suite, white fedora, white spectators, Bootsie-style shades, a cane and a very long fake beard. He and his VP quit after finding out there was some actual work involved. We ended up with a Gerald Ford pres for most of the year.

my friend derrick got kicked out of his high school presidential race for putting posters over the urinals in the men's room that said "think of me while you pee. vote derrick for president." sigh, catholic school.

Kerry is out of the 2008 race. To me this is great news. The Republicans I know still love to bring him, his wicked liberalness and Vietnam record up as often as possible like that is the definition of what a Democrat is. I certainly don't want to run the last race over.

I hated Kerry. But not because of his wicked liberalness or Vietnam record. It's because of his chin.

Him, Jay Leno, and their fucking chins. Ug.
