also i'm confused why you think you can't use real lemonade?
American Lemonade is just lemon juice, water & sugar.

The closest thing I can think of that is like UK Lemonade is Sprite, 7Up and maybe San Pellegrino Limonata would work.

I don't know why they mixed it with Ginger Ale. Sprite would have been better.

I'll mix you up a jug of proper Pimms some day Mere! :-) Still happy you tried it. I love it. It makes me mellow.

Is it the same as french lemonade? No pulp, lightly carbonated, with less sugar than we use?

If I'd have realized there was a difference I'd have made sure Steve got some lemonades while he was here.

we have two different types, really.
cloudy or traditional lemonade is like ginger beer. oh wait, you don't have that. well, it's still a carbonated sugary drink, but it has pulp in. like orangina, made from lemons.

generic lemonade is clear, and is just like sprite only without the lime flavour.

the american lemonade sounds really nice. it's popular in france, where they call it Citron Pressé and it's served in restaurants. just squeezed lemons, sugar and water.

We have ginger beer.
But the taste is shit when you are expecting something akin to root beer.

Remember when you were here, you had limeade and really liked it?

hmmm, no. I think it's certainly something that has to be mixed with something a bit sweet to make it work. I mean, No 1 cup might be a gin base, but I don't think it'd work...

I know I've seen it at larger/better liquor stores. I think it can be found in the same area as the mixers. That seems to be the place where the managers stick things they can't categorize, pimms, campari, angostura, etc.

One time, a friend and I went on a road trip to New Orleans/Baton Rouge, and her dad made us buy as much Diet Barq's Root Beer as we could find because they don't distribute it in Texas. So we drove back to Texas with at least 25 12-packs in the backseat.
