As long as we're nit-picking (aw hell, who'm I kidding, I always nit-pick everything), "carols" is not a proper noun.

Mine wasn't a carol either.

car·ol /ˈkærəl/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[kar-uhl] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation noun, verb, -oled, -ol·ing or (especially British) -olled, -ol·ling.
–noun
1. a song, esp. of joy.
2. a Christmas song or hymn.

So, according to this definition, all of these other songs are proper carols becuase they are defined as "Christmas song". And "Jingle Bells" quailifes for definition 1.

So there.

I love all of these.

I love Christmas. Love it. Love the holidays. Love Halloween, Thanksgiving, Solstice, and New Years. I love choirs and horns and jingle-y noises, too.

Spor "lame and proud" ker

P.S. But I really hate that Manheim Steamroller.

I heard Mike Love's brand new hit single "Christmas In Kokomo" and I was forced to cut off my face to end the suffering.

1) carol of the bells, but only when sung a capella. don't partically like it when it's actually played with bells. ironically.
2) ave maria (heard it while i was trying on clothes today at anthropologie and started singing along and the salesgirl heard me. she felt bad for me and was nice about it though.
3) silent night.
4) all the music from the nutcracker, though it is wordless (there are voices in the waltz of the snowflakes though, which is my favorite).
5)joy to the world when sung slowly and not sped up.
6)little drummer boy but only hearing it. hate singing it because it's addictive and you can never get it out of your head/can't stop humming it until new years.
7)oh come all ye faithful
8) my favorite is probably oh, holy night.

Yessssss.

When you guys say Joy to the World, do you mean "Joy to the world, the Lord has come, let earth receive its king?" or "Joy to the world, all the boys and girls. . .?"

I looove the Nutcracker. It was probably the first calssical piece I ever really heard, since my mom always played the CD around Christmastime when I was a kid.

I also love Sleigh Ride, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, Carol of the Bells (only when it's done really really well), and I like to sing the 12 Days of Christmas in its entirety because it annoys the shit out of Logan.

I HATE Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree, Let It Snow, Jingle Bells, and I especially hate R&Besque versions of O Holy Night.
