since you're going to be in the metroplex, you should definitely check out these fine establishments/events:

First, if you're coming to the south, you need to go see [url=http:///www.greatertuna.com]Greater Tuna.[/url] It's a fun, funny farce about small-town Texas, and it never fails to crack me up, and I think it's something any visitor to texas should see. It's also theater. Or, as your people say, 'theatre.'

I'd also recommend a trip to The Londoner pub. I mean, you're English, and what fun is another country if you don't get the chance to see how that country interprets your country's cuisine?

If you want a real good taste of Lousiana cuisine, I recommend the new Ralph & Kacoo's. They just opened up a restaurant there...my parents used to go there all the time, it's really, really cool.

I also recommend Posado's, if you're in the mood for some really good Mexican food.

But--and this is IMPORTANT--you MUST MUST MUST go to a Dairy Queen. I know you probably dont care for fast food, but they have kick-ass desserts, and they don't call it their logo the Texas Stop-Sign for nothing!
