It's short but fun.
I would recommend Memphis as well just because it's so iconic. But I wouldn't bother staying long.
If you do hit Memphis do yourself a favor and visit the Stax museum.

A trip through the southwest desert would be well worth it.
and the rock n soul museum is pretty good too, it's basically the history of music from blues to rock to soul. actually it was pretty darn cool. oh yeah it's across the street from the Gibson guitar factory/museum they have tours too.

eat at my fave bbq joint on beale street called blues city cafe, super tasty ribs. I had my bday dinner there this year when I went I likes that much. :D

i wish i could remember the name of that mexican restaurant we ate at in memphis. the margaritas were amaaaaazing.

just got back from a road trip on monday and i already want to take another.

I only seemed to have either beer or bucket sized drinks...mmmm you'd be very surprised how delicious a bucket drink can be. :lol:

i tried finding it on google map by looking for our hotel, think I maybe did, but the outside didn't look right.

I am think that travelling would be in October or similar, so I've saved some money and spent some time in my new job before taking loads of time off.
