and they got their insight into the female psyche from all those stupid bitches who are voting mccain just because obama beat hillary.Yep, because the Republicans think so little of the female's ability to reason (or make our own health care decisions) that they assume we'll all just fall into lockstep and vote for them because there's one of "us" on the ballot.

Obama is claiming 12yrs of experience out of 4.5 billion yrs of Earth, but Palin's got 2yrs out of a mere 6,000—she wins on the percentages

I don't believe that Hillary Clinton supporters are going to vote for McCain jsut because he's added a female running mate.
Why? Because most if not all of her supporters were in her camp not because she was female, but because they believed she'd do the job.
So it stands to reason that the would NOT support a Republican who they know nothing about and is mostly likely far from their own values especially on key issues.
It's too little too late.

too bad ann richards isnt around. shed be a great vp candidate. i havent watched bama's speech yet but i will this afternoon.
i asked my dad a few months ago (before the primaries were over) if he ever thought he'd see a woman run for president and he said flat-out 'no'. then i asked if he ever thought he'd see a black man run and he said even less than a woman. my dad was sitting in class at st. marks (in dallas) when they announced over the loudspeaker that kennedy had been shot -- presumably for his civil rights stance. my dad also worked on the bobby kennedy campaign in california when he was in college and he was driving out of LA when he heard on the radio that he was killed.
i cant imagine witnessing all of that -seeing "colored" signs as a little kid and then voting for a black president as an adult. i know its dumb to focus on his color so much because obviously he is about more than that, but i have always had this weak spot for the civil rights movement (i think i was black in a past life) and just the simple fact of his candidacy makes me really happy. i see him as this ghandi figure, peacefully making everyone eat their words.
like a nerd i just listened to a recording of pete seeger leading an audience in "we shall overcome" and it made me cry. its really great every few years when you have one of those moments where you realize a room full or stadium full of people can have one good intention at the same time. what is it about a huge crowd singing that is so overwhelming? like how it felt after september 11th when you'd sing the national anthem and the whole country was suddenly so enthusiastic about it.
anyway, his candidacy is enough to make me happy at the moment and the outcome of the election is not so important right now.

honestly, I don't see him as anything but the next president. He seems passionate, compassionate, fair, smart, trustworthy, kind, informed. All the qualities I want in a president.something tells me iranians and afghanis may not see him as suchi see him as this ghandi figure
This is an election for president, not exactly civil unrest (well at least not yet). He's been solicited to do a job. Gandhi was for change, but change for oppression. Americans may be having a hard time, but I'm not ready to play that card just yet. I want some fundamental changes made that will put things back on track. Obama's the man to get the job done.

Some commentators mark the number of us that watch Stewart and Colbert for political news as a sign of the downfall of western civilization. What they don't seem to realize is that they and their "news" outlets completely fail to point out these kinds of obvious and glaring idiotic statements. They just won't call people out the way the should. The real sign of downfall is that you have to pretend to be joking in order to voice an actual opinion in public.
