Ah John Wiley... I knew it had been too long since we heard from him. I kinda like the guy, he makes local politics more colorful.

My favorite part was the use of "lateral" as a verb. And the pink hole part, which I'm sure is a sexist, misogonistic term, which of course means that Mayfield is a wife beater.

i know, i looked it up to make sure he's an idiot, and yes, lateral is only a verb in reference to football. (typical of football commentators to start using a word in a way that sounds totally wrong.)

I love love love: "Our problem is that we understand language." Yep. That's the problem.

"We almost simultaneously picked up on what we called the idiom. Can't do that in terms of the language." Uh, I think taking "black hole" as a racist phrase is less idiomatic than the scientific meaning of the word. Since they thought he meant a crap hole full of black people, apparently. Thank god Mayfield didn't refer to the other cavernous deep-space phenomenon, the N-hole. :shock:
